Dinamulag Festival: That Party on the Sweet Side
Since 1999, this small coastal town of Iba draws the party-feeling crowd at the annual Dinamulag Festival. It is at this time when its juiciest mangoes steal the show. This year, the Zambaleños found the best excuse to rev-up the province just before the season of lent.
It runs for 2 weeks with back-to-back fun activities. There are agri-tourism fairs & marching band exhibitions. Then there’s sand sculpting competition as well as other talent search shows. Also, various athletics are up for energy pops like cycling & zumba.
But what’s a festival without the search for the prettiest lass in the province, right? Hang on in tight because their bevy of beauties takes those slow-mo turns quite well too. Leading up to the highlight days, Sambaliwanag or the float parade lights the town of Iba in its expression of art in motion.
And just like any other festivals in the country, the most anticipated event is always the street dancing competition. Garbed in the psychedelics of mango shades, every contingent from all over Zambales battle it out for the Zambayle grand prize.
Prepare for awesomeness because they sure know how to kick up their heels! From the antics of the usual festival street struts to surprise acrobatics, they’re truly delightful to watch. And as if its enough, let the showdown floor you with the magic of costume changes, props & light effects.
Dinamulag Festival is an exciting way to spice up your sightseeing plans around Zambales. Not only you get to witness the funfare at the festival, but also a chance to experience its travel & food destinations.
Just right next from the epicenter of party is the town of Palauig where a beautiful island called Magalawa awaits. Its white sand hemmed bliss is a perfect spot to laze or wallow on the fancies of idyllic holiday.
Not many know it but Iba is also a foodie wonderland. Aside from its local snack delicacies, you can also go on a gastronomic spin in some of its go-to restaurants. Names that plate up the best are Sonsing’s Resto Lounge, Oh-Ben Café, The Bakery & Homie’s.
In the town of Cabangan, don’t miss LC’s Stop & Chow.
