Camping doesn’t have to mean always roughing it out. In fact, with today’s sophisticated traveling styles, camping takes on a whole new comfort through glammed-up set-up. In the Philippines, Glamping Siquijor is one that surely tickles the fancies.
Known for its mystique, Siquijor Island is a sought-after travel destination. It offers wonderful natural escapes such as waterfalls, white sand beaches as well as hiking trails. And being an old island town, heritage churches & houses are a common sight too.
Glamping Siquijor: Do it Differently Pretty
While the island boasts of exclusive resorts, Glamping Siquijor blurs the line between the simple canvass-roofed accommodation & the pampering amenities of a resort. The best part, they’re beachfront & you’re sure to waking up with lapping waves in the view.
The glamping spot is all prepped when you arrive. All you need to do is to soak in all the loveliness. Each tent is provided with mattresses laden with crisp sheets & pillows. Some even have bamboo-framed beds in it.
They also provide electric fans in case it gets warm inside. There are clean towels & foot mats. All tents have tables & chairs. Others have hammocks & personal decks. And if its not too fancy, there’s tent service for simple requests like coffee or beer.
Glamping Siquijor provides common toilet & bath with tap water. It also has electricity & served by 4G mobile signal. If you come in with a large group, they also have a huge tent that can fit your party.
Of course, you can do fun cook-outs like those seafood grills & smokey barbeques. Or you can choose to hop around the nearby restaurants if you don’t want to sweat it out. But what’s a camping without bonfire, right? Get those smores ready because they have a ready pit to complete your experience.
What other nice thing about Glamping Siquijor is its location. They’re set in San Juan, smack dab at the island’s most happening strip. Tipple places like Monkey Business & Baha Bar are just a few walks next door.
If sleeping under the stars lulled by murmuring waves fill your fancy, waking up to the sight of Siquijor’s behind-the-scenes is also lovely. Check out the early morning drama of the locals fishing, cleaning shells & bottling “dayok”, an exotic condiment that surely kicks in the palate.
Glamping Siquijor is more than just swapping your sleeping bag with a soft mattress or your canned food with a spitfire chicken in lemongrass. It’s also a way to experience the island differently awesome. Try it sometime too!
