Endless Summer Hotel | Baler, Aurora

Is it just me or you feel it too that those family-run inns of the bygone times are now hard to find? Even in far-flung towns like Baler, once dominated by ramshackle surf huts, hotels have become so refined. But then, there’s Endless Summer Hotel that’s loosening up things in the face of cheek-by-jowl competition.

I had no idea about Endless Summer Hotel before we checked-in. I just played the happy camper in the 8thseason of Lakbay Norte. Meaning, I was ready to be thrown anywhere. Being in a surf town though, I admit I was hoping to get a beachfront resort.

However, I was placed in a downtown 4-storey hotel. Instantly, the idea of sea breezed nights & breakfasts by the beach were all gone.

Endless Summer Hotel: Be in for Surprises

We got in late at night. And there by the counter was the owner’s daughter who welcomed us with so much warmth. We chatted a bit over rounds of coolers — abs, bikinis & Baler longganisa. With all the giggles & riddles, this put us at home straight away.

Scenes like these remind me of the good old days of guest houses when husband-wife or mother-daughter duo man the counter. Those times when great customer service was about being hard to leave the hotel because you’ve made friends with everyone.

Endless Summer Hotel is somewhat like that — informal yet courteous, homey yet speedy service. It yokes between providing the comfort of a modern-day hotel & the timeless charm of Baler hospitality.

There are only 13 rooms here all washed in white. Each one is kept simple & tidy. Beds are fitted with crisp linens & washrooms kitted with basic toiletries. Where I stayed has a balcony that is perfect for lounging around.

Perhaps the loveliest part of Endless Summer Hotel is its rooftop. It has a mini lap pool & a 360 viewdeck of Sierra Madre, the Pacific Ocean & the quaint townscape of Baler. Yes, I may not have gotten the beachfront drama I planned but I sure got a differently wonderful vista too.

Smack dab right at the heart of downtown Baler, the hotel is conveniently located to all tourist attractions. It’s a short walking distance to the museum, church, town hall & the heritage house of Maria Aurora. Also, it’s a quick ride away to Sabang Beach, the town’s most happening strip.

More Wins at Endless Summer Hotel

If the higgle-piggle of woodsy furnishings, murals & familial service are already lovely, wait ‘til they plate you up with their home-cooked feel food. And the star of the table is their own version of Aurora longganisa!

It’s garlicky but not overpowering & the sweet-salty flavor just gives that right kind of kick in the palate. And oh, don’t dip it on their own fantastic vinegar blend if you don’t want another helping of rice! I will not lie, it’s the longganisa to beat.

There’s so much to love about Baler & Endless Summer Hotel is just one of those. While some hotels treat you like kings, very few others welcome you like a family.

And yes, if you’re missing those cheerful informalities in hotels, when in Baler, find those joyful endless summer feels here.
