Santa Monica Beach Club | Dumaguete City
Think of scope out views of the sea, the murmurs of crickets at night & the sound of rustling leaves. Imagine the gentleness of life in Dumaguete City. All together, if you put a name to a place as lovely as this, you’d somehow end up at Santa Monica Beach Club.
I cannot anymore remember how many times I have visited Dumaguete. After all, this is one of the cities that I truly adore. And in those seemingly countless times, I have stayed in all of its major hotels.
Although I am very familiar with it, I am still delighted with the little surprises everytime I come. Staying for the first time at Santa Monica Beach Club was one of those feel-good finds in my recent visit. It was just the perfect place to slow down from the frenzy of Sandurot Festival.
Santa Monica Beach Club: Reimagining Chill
Tucked 4 kilometers away from downtown, Santa Monica Beach Club assures you of a quiet getaway. It is a seaside eco-resort that prides itself with tranquil ambience & heartwarming service.
Dumaguete is dubbed as The City of Gentle People. And here, this character isn’t hard to spot at all. They’re unimaginably tender but speedy at service. Everyone at this boutique resort makes you feel so special & that comes without exaggeration.
Santa Monica Beach Club rests in an atmospheric setting of refreshing blues & brilliant greens. It is so quiet that you get lovely heady doses of being so away from it all. You can bask on the pool or curl up on a hammock all day with a book.
Noticeably, the property is so expansive yet there are only a few rooms because they want to keep that quaint mood. Each suite is generously spaced & certainly brings back the feeling of the bygone days when rooms were still excessively sized.
Accommodations at Santa Monica Beach Club come in 3 choices. Deluxe is fitted with either one king sized or 2 queen-sized beds. There are also loft-type suites that are perfect for inseparable friends.
Then there’s the beach house with 3 rooms & a kitchen. This one’s an awesome pick for vacationing families with kids in tow. Or for twosome friends who’d like to stay close together without giving up on couple privacy.
While it may be silent & still, it’s nowhere boring because there are quite a few things to keep your feet swinging over the dock. You can bike around, go swimming in its front beach & walk around in the community. Or you can hole up in the restaurant over delicious food.
And if there’s one more thing that I like most about the resort is its whitewashed finish. It’s clean, calming & timeless. After all, the resort belongs to the creators of Amorita in Bohol. And if you’ve stayed there, it becomes instinctive to find the classic design touches in its Dumaguete property.
Expect the Visayan charm in spades when you stay at Santa Monica Beach Club. It’s alluring but not overwhelming. Its elegance is subtly muted yet keeping that strong sense of place. Above all, it puts you at the heart of their service.
