TV personality & celebrity chef, Anthony Bourdain is gracing this yearโs World Street Food Congress 2017 (WSFC17) to be held in Manila from May 31 to June 4. ย He will meet the media, food vendors and partners at a town hall gathering to present much-awaited fresh updates on the highly-anticipated Bourdain Market, scheduled to swing open its doors in 2019.
Apart from the update, Anthony Bourdain will also be sourcing for potential food vendors from the Philippines for his New York market โ the line-up of 100 world food stalls makes it the largest of its kind in America.

Anthony Bourdain, one of many eminent dialogue speakers this year, is delighted to be preparing for updates on his Market at the WSFC17. The New York-based international food market, modelled after a Singapore-style hawker-food-court concept, is the fruition of impassioned discussions, distilled over teh tarik and chicken rice with KF Seetoh of WSFC and Makansutra fame, who has been tapped as the Consultant and Curator for Bourdain Market.
Of his market, Bourdain quips,ย โthink of an Asian night market โฆ eating and drinking at midnight.โ
The WSFC is an event organised by Singapore-based Makansutra (S) Pte Ltd. In fact, it wasย at the inception of the event in 2013 in Singapore that Anthony Bourdain (who was a presenter in the event) first broached the idea of a street food market to KF Seetoh.
The Bourdain Market town hall style gathering is open firstly to WSF Dialogue ticket holders. All others will be on a waiting list and on a first-come-first-served basis. Seats are limited. To secure a seat, kindly register at contact@makansutra.com and participants will be notified.
