Dams are built to hold underground streams but the Canili-Diayo Dam does more than that. Its tranquility holds your breathe in awe.
Situated in the deep canyons of Canili-Diayo rivers in the town of Maria Aurora, it is attached to the larger Pantabangan Dam which irrigates more than a hundred thousand hectares of farmland in Central and parts of Northern Luzon.
Canili-Diayo Dam is actually just an “oh, by the way place” for a stop-over enroute to the more popular surfing camp in Baler, Aurora. The drama of dug out boats, roaming cows, birds and the soft streaks of light creates the perfect tableau of what many would describe as “life is beautiful”.
How To Get There
Driving From Metro Manila
- Approximately 194 kms from Balintawak Cloverleaf.
- Take the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX).
- Exit at Sta. Rita, Bulacan.
- Drive straight to Plaridel up to the Sibul Junction.
- Enter Gapan, Nueva Ecija and drive straight up to Rizal junction passing by Sta. Rosa and Cabanatuan City.
- Proceed to Pantabangan and follow the road that leads to Cadaclan, Alfonso Castaneda, until you reach Dimotol in the Province of Aurora.
